What We Do
We grow our own vegetables from heritage seeds for a forgotten depth of flavour, we raise our own chickens for our fabulous eggs, and we make everything we practically can in our kitchens, for example, we buy our sausages from Thatcham Butchers as they make better sausages than we do, but we make our own pasta as we make it better than we can buy it.
Our menus change daily, sometimes twice daily, as one dish sells out it is replaced by another, this means that we can use our vegetables and salads as they ripen and take advantage of offers from local producers and suppliers more effectively and that there will always be something new and exiting for our customers to try, even if you visit us two, three or more times a week, as some do.
Being flexible in our approach means that if there is someway we can accommodate your wishes, we will go out of our way to do so. We will happily open for a race day breakfast for parties on their way to Newbury Racecourse, and of course welcome them back for an evening drink or meal. Please telephone to discuss your requirements.

Service is unobtrusive, efficient and friendly. We welcome children, and we have a designated childrens menu designed with the same care and attention as our other menus. Featuring Organic Sausages from Helen Browning, and a range of other, often changing meals designed by us with children and smaller appetites in mind.
If you have any needs, requests or questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
